Riccardo A. Audisio was born in Milan, Italy; he graduated in Medicine in 1980 at the prestigious University of Padua, and specialised in General Surgery (1985) and Radiology (1994). Prof. Audisio completed his fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Milan, Italy (1980-94); he was then appointed deputy-director, Department of General Surgery at the European Institute of Oncology, Milan (1994-1998). Since 1999 he is Consultant in General Surgery/Oncology at St. Helens & Knowsley Hospitals. He is member/board member of several scientific societies and is the Editor-in-Chief of Surgical Oncology, Elsevier Pub. His has been exploring the role of surgery within the multidisciplinary management of cancer patients, particularly focusing on onco-geriatrics and breast cancer.
