Medico Legal Experience

Mr Colin J Read practiced as a consultant in orthopaedics and trauma since 1985. He is experienced in the management of all aspects of orthopaedic trauma, with a special interest in management of spinal disorders and trauma and ankle and foot surgery and trauma. He retired from the National Health Service in May 2003 while a Substantive Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital with special interest in treatment of the spine and responsible for the spinal service at the hospital. He is experienced in the field medico legal practice since 1985, including the writing of medical legal reports and court appearances. Mr Read is able to offer expert opinions in cases involving Spinal surgery Cervical and lumbar pathology Spinal injuries including soft tissue injuries to the lumbar spine Whiplash / Low velocity whiplash Evaluation of spinal pain and disability Chronic spinal pain General orthopaedic injuries Injuries of the foot and ankle Work related injuries Evaluations for fitness for employment (orthopaedic and spinal conditions) Clinical negligence Mr Read has over 20 years of medico-legal experience, report writing and court appearances and have prepared reports for both claimants and defendants. He is well versed in the Woolf Reforms and The Civil Procedure Rules Part 35, and has prepared more than 20,000 reports since 1985. Mr Read has extensive experience in all aspects of orthopedic trauma. Special expertise in injuries to the spine& chronic spinal pain & all aspects of foot and ankle surgery.
